Katy Perry hosted the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards, with Kendrick Lamar sweeping the night with 6 wins, Taylor Swift debuting her contentious comeback video "Look What You Made Me Do", and Lorde revealing she crushed the red carpet while fighting the flu.
Lorde may have been battling the flu virus (which she tweeted prior to her interesting dance performance) during the VMAs, yet, the grammy-winning songstress stunned on her arrival to the red carpet wearing a feathered Monique Lhuillier gown from the designer's Spring 2018 collection that debuted in Paris in July.
Still, the talk of the night is Taylor Swift's new music video which was promoted leading up to Sunday and debuted during the awards. While the singer did not attend the award show, she managed to be the focus of the evening. Throughout the video Swift mercilessly mocked herself, embodying all the personas she's crafted over the years, and ultimately showing she is still in control of her narrative.
