6 OF THE BUZZIEST BRANDS THIS NYFW

Why are there so many NYFW logos...

Below are buzziest brands to keep an eye on this New York Fashion Week.

Alexander Wang

This summer Wang left stepped down from the Creative Director role at Balenciaga to commit his attention to his own line. This season instead of a the usual 5PM show, Wang will be showing at 9PM with a 10-Year Anniversary party following immediately afterwards. The bash is expected to be a full-on circus – in true Wang fashion.

Coach

While still struggling with low sales, Coach will put on its first ever runway show during NYFW. Under the helm of Staurt Veyers, Coach has been working towards reclaiming its rightful status as a luxury brand. Over the past two years we’ve seen rebranding tactics from the label including enlisting some of fashion’s it-girls to star in their ad campaigns. We’ve also observed some recalibration in the overall aesthetic of the brand – leaning more towards the downtown cool.

DKNY

There have been major changes at the legendary New York fashion house. The company announced the founder Donna Karan was stepping down from her post as chief designer. Furthermore, SVP of Communications Aliza Licht is no longer the voice behind the @DKNYPRgirl handle. Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osbourne of Public School are expected to re-energize the label in their newly appointed roles as co-Creative Directors.

Givenchy

The French fashion house is garnering a lot of buzz this season – first for showing in New York instead of Paris and secondly, because they’ve open the show to the public. Givenchy is allotting 1,200 tickets for spectators and they have set aside 280 of those passes for fashion students and faculty at FIT, Parsons, Pratt Institute and the High School for Fashion Industries.

Givenchy’s first-ever New York runway show for the house will coincide with the opening of the label’s Manhattan flagship on Madison Avenue.

Jeremy Scott

With his upcoming documentary and being fresh off his high-profile MTV gig– Jeremy Scott has a lot of eyes on him this season. A change of venue is also in-store for the designer – moving from Milk Studios to showing at Skylight at Moynihan Station.

Lauren Conrad

The former MTV reality star who already has a fashion line with Kohl’s will be debuting a limited-edition collection for Kohl's – LC Lauren Conrad Runway. You’ll be able to shop the entire collection on LCRunway.com as immediately following the show.
